Fayette County Schools

There are, in fact, many schools in Fayette county ranging from public schools to private schools, and elementary level schools to universities. The official Fayette County school district is managed by the county’s educational board (the Fayette County Public School System), which in turn is based in the City of Lexington. These schools alone offer excellent educational opportunities; they do not content themselves with standard establishments of learning. While it is true that they have regular schools that offer the regular curriculum, the Fayette County Public School System is also diversified in that they offer opportunities for advanced or specialized education. Schools such as this include the arts-oriented School for the Creative and Performing Arts (a top performing school of the state) and the magnet programs like the Math, Science and Technology Center of Paul Laurence Dunbar High.

Apart from schools under the Fayette County Public School System, Fayette County also plays home to several other schools, both public and private such as the Lexington School, the Trinity Christian Academy, Lafayette High School, and the Bluegrass Community and Technical College. It is also interesting to note that the University of Kentucky, the state’s land-grant university, can be found in Lexington – it happens to be the largest university and the best research university in the state of Kentucky. Therefore, no one can say that Fayette County schools are in any way sub-par.
